Blak Cede Café Update 2024

22/02/2024

Waminda’s Blak Cede Gunyah cafe is the talk of the town at the moment. You might have seen some action recently at our 39a Kinghorn Street Nowra location. That’s because our team, alongside external trade contractors, have been working hard to finish the final stages of the cafe build. We’re currently on the lookout for local Koori Women who are interested in working in the cafe, so reach out if you or someone you know is eager to gain employment at the deadliest cafe on the South Coast. We will announce the opening date soon, so keep an eye out for updates on the Blak Cede Facebook, Instagram and website.

The Kareela Ngura community garden is thriving, and we can’t wait to share all our delicious produce in the cafe soon. The team has been spending a lot of time recently testing the menu to ensure our community enjoys some wonderful Nyully in our beautiful, culturally-centred Gunyah cafe. Because ultimately, the purpose of Blak Cede is to keep our community strong and healthy through our ways and knowledge of traditional plants and medicine.

Finally, we’re also in the process of designing some real deadly merch for all our mob and allies to purchase either online via the Blak Cede website or in-store at the cafe. These will be great gift ideas, or you might want to get all glammed up yourself; either way, we’re sure you’re gonna love it!
